About EMDH
EMDH is a diaspora network and community ecosystem rooted in Hungary, growing across Europe. We connect people, knowledge, culture, generations, partners and opportunities.

Who we are
EMDH – European Hungarian Diaspora Network was founded in Strasbourg, France in 2026. We are a legally registered nonprofit association (Alsace-Moselle local civil law, SIRET 106 410 590 00017), led by a seven-person founding board spanning Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Hungary.
We started because the knowledge, professional experience, working culture, connections and international perspective that Hungarians acquire abroad often stays personal — disconnected from Hungary and from the communities it could enrich. EMDH exists to change that.
We work with young people, families, older generations, mentors, professionals, entrepreneurs, volunteers, institutions and companies. Hungarian roots are our starting point — not our boundary. We are open to every partner who shares our values of community, education, culture and social impact.
Our Mission
EMDH's mission is to build European partnerships from Hungarian roots — connecting the diaspora's knowledge, experience and networks to community, educational, cultural and social mobility goals. We create programmes and partnerships that support young people, strengthen communities, bridge generations and open new opportunities for learning, career-building and shared action.
Our Vision
An open, inclusive, collaborative diaspora network where Hungarian roots are not a boundary but a starting point. A community platform that supports social mobility, access to education and career opportunities, cultural preservation, intergenerational connection and international cooperation — starting with European chapters in Tapolca, London, München and Strasbourg, and building toward a scalable model with global reach.

Mentoring, career guidance, shadowing, work experience and professional networks for young Hungarians across Europe.
Workshops, digital skills, leadership, entrepreneurial thinking and scholarship opportunities.
Creative children's programmes, family days, Hungarian language and cultural events and safe community spaces.
Language, stories, traditions, music, literature, oral history and events that bridge generations within the diaspora.
Programmes supporting belonging, self-confidence, fresh starts and the emotional realities of diaspora life.
